Electronic signature
Sign documents in A3 services on your own behalf or on behalf of your company. The application, identity verification and file download all happen online.
What problem it solves
Documents in A3 electronic document management must be signed so that the recipient sees the author and is sure the text has not changed after signing.
How it works
The authority issues a signature key certificate in your name or in the name of your company. The key and the certificate come in a .pfx file (PKCS#12), and only you set its password. The certificate status is published through OCSP and CRL, so any service can check whether the signature is valid.
How to get it
Apply in A3.ID
Choose who the signature is for: an individual or a sole proprietor or organization. Companies attach their documents as PDF files.
Pass identity verification
In an external biometric identification service, show your identity document and pass a face check on a phone or a computer with a camera.
Wait for the administrator
An administrator of the authority reviews the application and the identification result, then approves the issue.
Set a password and download the file
Create a password for the signature file and download it. The file cannot be used without the password, so keep the password separately.
What to know
- The signature is valid in A3 ecosystem services and is recognised by the parties under their contract. It is not a certificate of an accredited certification authority of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- A signature cannot be extended: when it expires, submit a new application.
- Revocation is confirmed with codes from an SMS and an email, after which the signature stops being valid immediately.
- Only you know the file password: the authority does not store it and cannot recover it.
Questions and answers
What is the difference between .pfx and .p12?
There is none: both are a PKCS#12 container with the key and the certificate. Most programs accept either extension.
What if I forget the file password?
The password cannot be recovered. Revoke the signature in your A3.ID account and apply for a new one.
How do I check that a signature is valid?
Enter its serial number on the verification page. The service shows the owner, the validity period and the revocation mark, if any.
